My Placement Journey at EY

By Yash Sriwastav (CS Core)

I’m Yash Sriwastav, and I’m happy to share my experience of securing a placement at EY.

This journey was a learning process that helped me grow both professionally and personally, and I hope it offers useful insights to juniors preparing for placements.

My preparation was centered around developing a strong foundation and maintaining discipline throughout the process.

Instead of rushing through multiple topics, I focused on understanding core concepts deeply and practicing problem-solving regularly.

This consistent effort gradually improved my confidence and ability to handle interview questions.

In parallel with preparation, I worked on projects that helped me connect theoretical concepts with real-world applications.

These experiences gave me practical exposure and also made it easier to discuss my work during interviews.

Being able to clearly explain my approach, challenges and solutions proved to be an advantage.

The interview process at EY placed strong emphasis on analytical thinking, clarity and communication.

Interviewers were interested in how I approached unfamiliar problems and structured my responses.

I realized that explaining my thought process clearly mattered more than simply reaching the correct solution.

One key takeaway from this journey was learning to stay composed under pressure.

Even when I was unsure about a question, breaking it down step by step and communicating honestly helped me move forward.

Confidence, calmness and clarity played a crucial role.

For juniors preparing for placements, my advice would be to stay focused, build strong fundamentals and gain hands-on experience through projects.
